A group of youths in Edinburgh were caught on camera damaging a life-saving defibrillator near Leith Links, sparking fear among locals. The incident, which took place on Sunday, was witnessed by a concerned resident who called the police, but the perpetrators had already fled by the time officers arrived.
The resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed her worries about the increasing incidents of anti-social behavior in the area. She mentioned incidents like youths throwing apples at cars from a bridge and riding bikes at high speeds in the park, scaring people and pets. She emphasized the seriousness of damaging a defibrillator, as it is a vital piece of equipment meant to save lives.
The resident urged other locals to report such incidents to the authorities to address the growing problem of anti-social behavior in the community. She also called for more police patrols in the area to deter such activities in the future. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment on the matter.
