An East Lothian resident has been all up in arms and calling for some serious action to be taken after their neighbour’s fence went and got itself set alight. The whole shebang went down over on Pinkiehill Crescent, right at the back lane of the abandoned Edenhall Hospital site in Musselburgh. Like, can you even believe it? Firefighters had to come to the rescue and were called to the site at around 9.18pm on Monday, April 28. They managed to put out the blaze using just one appliance.
Now, the locals are not too pleased about the former healthcare site being used like some kind of hangout spot for rowdy youths causing trouble. One person even took to social media to vent their frustrations, claiming this was just the latest disturbance causing chaos for the nearby households. “I’m getting absolutely sick of this,” they ranted. “Having to ring up the fire brigade once again because of these little troublemakers setting yet another fire in the back lane of Edenhall Hospital. Something needs to be done about this.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had this to say: “We got a report of a fence on fire at the back lane between the old Edenhall Hospital and Pinkiehill Crescent at around 9.18pm on Monday, April 28. We sent one appliance from Musselburgh, and they managed to put out the fire using one high-pressure hose reel.”
The local police have been reached out to for a comment on the situation.
So, there you have it. Another day, another fire causing chaos in the neighborhood. Who even knows what those troublemakers were thinking, setting that fence on fire. Not really sure why this matters, but the fact remains that the residents are fed up with all the shenanigans happening in their area. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like these youths need to find something better to do with their time than causing trouble for everyone else.
But hey, that’s just my two cents. Who am I to judge, right?
In any case, let’s hope the authorities can step in and put a stop to all this nonsense before someone gets hurt. Because at the end of the day, safety should be everyone’s top priority. Let’s all do our part to keep our communities safe and sound. Remember, it takes a village!
