Kate Middleton’s body language showed signs of discomfort when the conversation shifted to her family during an ITV interview, according to a body language expert. The documentary ‘Kate: In Her Own Words’ on Channel 5 explored Prince William and Princess Kate’s 2010 engagement interview, with insights from two body language experts. When Tom Bradby mentioned Kate’s “close-knit family,” Kate acknowledged the importance of family and expressed her desire for a “happy family” with William. However, body language specialist Judi James pointed out that there were visible signs of “tension” in Kate’s demeanor when her family was brought up, suggesting that the topic made her “nervous.”
Bradby then asked the couple about their parents’ reactions to the engagement news. Prince William revealed his initial uncertainty about asking Kate’s father for permission first, as he was concerned about the possibility of being refused. He decided to propose to Kate beforehand to ensure that her father couldn’t “really say no.” Judi observed that Kate seemed “awkward” during this part of the interview, noting her swallowing and lip-sucking as signs of discomfort and anxiety. She also mentioned Kate’s finger tap, which typically indicates impatience or a desire to move on from the subject.
Another body language expert, Mike Carter, highlighted Kate’s hesitation and caution during the exchange, noting her lip-licking as a sign of anxiety. The interview touched on the couple’s family plans, with Prince William mentioning their intention to take things “one step at a time” in starting a family. Kate, who is the mother of three children with William, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, comes from a family that includes her siblings, Pippa and James. In September, it was reported that Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, appeared in a video where Kate shared an update on her cancer treatment journey after completing chemotherapy.
The upcoming documentary ‘Kate: In Her Own Words’ is scheduled to air on Saturday, October 19th at 9.20pm on Channel 5. The program promises to provide further insights into Kate Middleton’s experiences and perspectives.
