Edinburgh itsu Restaurant Suddenly Closes Amid Franchise Dispute
Edinburgh residents were left shocked and disappointed as the popular itsu restaurant located at St James’ Quarter closed its doors unexpectedly. The restaurant, known for its delicious sushi offerings, opened its doors in 2022 to much anticipation and excitement, drawing in crowds of eager customers.
Franchise Dispute Behind Closure
The sudden closure of the itsu restaurant in Edinburgh was attributed to a complicated franchise agreement between the company and HWS Ltd, the franchise owner. According to a statement posted on the door of the restaurant, the closure is a result of the lease and ownership rights being tangled up in the administration process of HWS Ltd.
The itsu chain revealed that out of the several itsu restaurants across the UK, three were franchised to HWS Ltd, including the bustling location in St James’ Quarter. Unfortunately, this particular restaurant had to cease operations temporarily until the issues surrounding the franchise agreement are resolved.
Hopes for Reopening Soon
While customers have been left disappointed by the sudden closure, the itsu team assured them that they are working to reopen the restaurant as soon as possible. The team expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused and promised to keep patrons updated on the progress through the itsu website.
As the situation unfolds, loyal customers and sushi enthusiasts in Edinburgh eagerly await the reopening of their beloved itsu restaurant at St James’ Quarter.
