Crystal Palace is currently in discussions with Galatasaray regarding the possible return of Wilfried Zaha on loan. This surprising move comes after the rejection of Newcastle’s latest offer for Marc Guéhi.

Zaha, who left Selhurst Park last summer on a free transfer, has become a target for Palace following the departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich. The 31-year-old winger has been made available for transfer as he fell down the pecking order at Galatasaray last season, despite scoring nine goals in the Turkish League and against his former club Manchester United in the Champions League.

Negotiations for a potential season-long loan deal are currently underway, with Galatasaray reportedly asking for around £9m to sell the Ivory Coast forward. It remains to be seen whether Palace is willing to meet this asking price for a player who has made over 450 appearances for the club since coming through the academy.

Meanwhile, talks between Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, and Newcastle’s Paul Mitchell regarding Marc Guéhi are still ongoing. Despite rejecting a £50m bid for the English defender, Newcastle remains cautiously optimistic about securing his transfer. Guéhi has indicated his interest in making the move, but Palace is standing firm on their valuation of around £65m. However, with only one year left on his contract, a compromise could potentially be reached.

Although Manchester United and Liverpool have shown previous interest in Guéhi, they have yet to make a move for the defender. The situation surrounding Guéhi’s potential transfer is expected to develop further in the coming days as negotiations continue between the involved parties.
